My skin has become extremely sensitive due to GLOBAL WARMING and I feel very determined to change my entire skin care line from Neutrogena to a more trusted brand.. what’s out there.. pure coconut, carrot, olive, shea, or something a long those lines.. thanks!
What are some facial skin care products that don’t have petroleum in them?
There’s a range of skincare products called Miessence. They are 100% certified organic and definitely DO NOT contain petroleum. AND they are a carbon neutral company so they don’t leave their carbon footprint on the world either.

They do their ordering on line and you get things delivered to you very quickly. I’ve had things sent to me in the States as well as Australia.

Also, if you check out the website (I’ve put it in the ‘Source’ section) there’s a lot on other environmental information there.

Hope this helps,

Skin Care Products For Acne

There are so many acne skincare products created to battle against acne flooding the market today and they are almost impossible to actually count them. Sadly, most of these products are ineffective. But, there are a few exceptions to that rule that really turn up to be very effective. The major issue is that many patients who are suffering from acne may actually spend numerous amounts of money and precious time snooping around for the best medication for acne. Teenagers mostly grow out of the problem even before they can actually find an efficient treatment.

The better solution in today’s world that is doing the rounds globally is supposed to be ProActiv. ProActiv treatment somehow seems to benefit many acne patients who were at a loss to look for effective medication. It has found favor with the news articles, magazines and generally the critics of the cosmetic industry. Proactiv is a method which involves a repairing lotion, renewing cleanser and a revitalizing toner. Prescription drub benzoyl peroxide makes for the functional content in ProActiv. ProActiv can be bought over the counter without a prescription.

Another medication that can be purchased only on prescription is Accutane. It is a very heavy medication that is usally used on patients suffering from acute and unrelenting acne. The medicine is administered internally the possibility of side-effects are rife, including congenital deficiency, dry and chapped lips and even liver ailments.

A drug that needs topical application for better results is retin-a. A great deal of success in treating acne has been reported with this composition and is proving that it is useful in treating acne besides other skin ailments like the marks caused by acne, creasing of the skin, stretch marks, discoloring of the skin and a host of skin afflictions. The drug Retin-a is a prescription drug but some counter medicines also consist of retin-a.

But not all treatments are made up of chemical content. Some specific important oils are very good in treating acne. These crucial oils are topically used to aid in the cure of slight to average acne. The best vital oils used in treating acne are: Clove Oil, Rosewood Oil, Lavender Oil, Tea Tree Oil and Bergamot Oil. If the oil requires dilution, it is mixed with grape-seed Oil for best results.

To find the most suitable acne skin care products, it makes good sense to commence with those much talked of vital oils. If you get no results with their use for a reasonable amount of time, move on the step two which would be a go at ProActive. If ProActive also does not give desired outcomes, then move on to try some prescription choices. Also think about a few tests to check on any allergies triggered by foods and some of these allergies can trigger acne. If the tests show some foods that you are allergic to, you would do best to keep away from those foods and you would not really need any other treatment. Alternately, you may want to try out several home remedies for acne that are tested and reported effective by acne sufferers.

Beware of over-cleaning
Posted by Cassandra J in Skin Care on 05 13th, 2009| | No Comments »

Over cleaning with cleansers and scrubs can create more blemishes. Being gentle with the skin is better. The skin does need some oils. If you clean all oils then more will be produced and clog pores. Finding the right balance for your own skin is key. If you are still getting blemishes and have no medical reason for this then try a gentle cleanser in the morning and if your skin feels dirty or oily through the day just wash it with water. At night you can use your regular, harsher cleanser. This will not cost you any extra to try but i assure you within a month your blemishes will improve.
